Hiring Steps


Online Application: Visit Durand’s Career page at www.durandinc.org/careers. Click on the Apply Online Now button in order to complete the application.


Phone Screen: A member from our Human Resources department will contact you and discuss the position that you applied to. Please be prepared to answer questions about your previous work history that is relevant to the job in which you have applied. If you’re a great fit for the position an interview will be scheduled.


Face-to-Face Interview: You must have the following items with you the day of the interview: high school diploma, 2 forms of I.D. with one being a photo I.D. and a valid driver’s license. (Probationary and provisional license is unacceptable).

The potential candidate will have a scheduled group interview at Durand’s corporate office or a one-on-one interview via (Zoom, Duo, or FaceTime.) You will learn more about Durand and about the position you applied. This will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the position. If you are a good match for the position, you will then move on to the next step.


Drug and Fingerprints: All positions require candidate to be fingerprinted and additional pre-screening requirements. Both drug and fingerprints will be scheduled the same day of your interview. You will receive a date and time for you to complete both. Please make sure that you bring the same IDs with you to these facilities that you brought with you to the interview.


Pre-employment Physical: You will need a physical. This will be done at American Workcare in Glassboro, NJ. The physical consists of drug screen, baseline functional capacity test, PPD and/or chest x-ray and/or a Hepatitis B shot.


Motor Vehicle Registration: For DSP positions. You must have a valid Driver’s License with no more than 5 points. A probationary/provisional license is unacceptable. You must be willing and able to operate Durand’s company vans in order to be hired for any position.


Reference Check: Will be performed in order to verify your previous work history, characteristics, and job duties.


Offer: An offer will be extended to you once you pass all of the prior steps of Durand’s hiring process.


Orientation: For all DSP positions. Mandatory paid orientation is scheduled for 6 business days in a row. You must be able to attend all 6 days. No exceptions.
